Stupidity Abounds

Seeing that I am fighting for Social Security Disability, I learned my daughter and I automatically qualified for the state medicaid program, SoonerCare. Thinking I could use it as a secondary insurance, I applied. We were quickly accepted.

I've been using my regular insurance until I received a letter stating I had to choose a primary care physician that accepted SoonerCare. My regular doctor doesn't accept it, so my search began. I called the number on the back of my card. The woman who answered the call shocked me. This is a bit of our conversation.

"Due to my health issues, I need an internist," I explained.

"No, honey. An internist hasn't finished medical school. They aren't doctor's yet," she replied.

"I need a doctor who specializes in internal medicine, an internist."

Again, she explained her definition of an internist. She also added, "We don't have specialists as primary care physicians. You must see a family doctor or nurse practitioner. They would refer you to a specialist if they thought it was necessary."

I was taken back by her answer. This meant my four year old daughter couldn't see a pediatrician, unless the family doctor referred her to a specialist.

"My daughter can't see a pediatrician, unless another doctor refers her to one?" I asked, needing clarification.

"A pediatrician isn't a specialist. They are family doctors."

HUH? Pediatricians specialize in treating children. Ask anyone. I tried to explain this to her.

"No. They are family doctors. Just like OB/GYNs are family doctors."

I stifled a giggle. "OB/GYNs specialize in women's reproductive health."

"I work for SoonerCare and I know what doctors are specialists and which aren't. We don't have any specialists. Pediatricians and OB/GYNs are not specialists." She sounded as if she knew what she was talking about. She then gave me the website address, adding "You won't find any internal doctors on it, only family doctors like pediatricians and OB/GYNs." She went on about the hours of training she had been provided about doctors and what they do.

Once I got the member of MENSA off the phone, I went to the website. There I found several pediatricians who were limited to only treating those between the ages of newborn to 14 years old, some went up to the age of 18. I guess Ms. MENSA had never visited the website. I also found several OB/GYNs, many of them worked in offices or clinics with names like "Women's Health Services" and the like. I scrolled down and I even found a few doctors that had "Internal Medicine Specialist" type by their name. Many were nurse practitioners. Not even real doctors; just nurses who took a few extra classes in college.

Barrack Hussein Obama and his blind sheep socialists want to care for the entire nation, providing health care for everyone. Obviously, they can't even can't even take care of those on medicaid. They can't finish what is already on their plate, yet they are going back for seconds.

Folks, I'm scared. My own doctor, an internist, doesn't take medicaid because they pay pennies on the dollar for treatment and won't pay for the necessary tests his patients need. He explained how medicaid wouldn't pay for the types of tests I need such as MRIs, CAT scans, sonograms, EKGs and EEGs. He also said they only paid for blood tests once a year, how they wouldn't pay for my mammogram because I'm a few years short of 45 - despite my family's history of breast cancer. He's worried that he'll know what is wrong with one of patients, but won't have the test results to prove it - opening him up to all sorts of malpractice suits.

I called SoonerCare back. I wanted to know if my doctor was exaggerating. I found out he had left out a lot of information. The list of what medicaid won't pay for is much longer than the list he told me about. One example is that they will only pay for one urine analysis per year. What about those with recurring kidney and bladder infections? So sad, too bad; I guess they will have to suffer.

I also learned from SoonerCare will not pay for my Lyrica, a medication that I can't function without. Valium can only be paid for if prescribed by a psychiatrist. From what the new member of MENSA told me, Lyrica was used to treat fibromyalgia which is not a real medical condition. "Your primary care physician will refer you to a psychiatrist for treatment, seeing you made up that ailment," she explained in a mocking tone.

Did I mention I'm scared? I am terrified! What is it going to be like once Obama gets through with it? He can't possibly improve things without it costing an arm and a leg. Maybe a kidney or liver - SoonerCare doesn't cover organ transplants, either. Maybe other state programs cover such things, but not here.

This ObamaCare must be stopped. Let them fix what we have and then they can move on.

When 140 Characters Is Not Enough

I love Twitter! I'd tweet all day long if I didn't have other responsibilities. I can't get enough of it. I love sharing my thoughts, opinions and ideas with anyone who is willing to listen. And, yes, I love a spirited exchange of thoughts, opinions and ideas. I don't debate. I don't argue. I don't fuss or fight. I simply share information and my take on that information.

The only problem with Twitter is that 140 characters is all its users are given to express themselves. I understand the concept, but it would be nice to be able to share more at one time. Because of this, I am responding here to a few tweets from one of my Twitter friends. He and I had a nice discussion about politics and I would like to better explain my tweets back to him. For the record, I like him and will not speak badly of him. We disagree and that is fine with me.

This is a tweet from him: "Interesting how you choose which pieces of information you'd like to relay." Another tweet was "[A]gain, taking isolated data and using it for an agenda..." Between those tweets he added the following: "Nice blog...respectable and well spoken."

For the record, we are tweeting about ObamaCare. I don't like it and he, from his tweets, appears to be in favor of it. I'm assuming this is the blog he was tweeting about, seeing I didn't send him links to my other two blogs. I also want to add that it was quite classy of him to speak kindly of my blog even though he disagrees with it. I think (I hope) he understands I'm not bashing all those who don't believe like I do. That has never been my intention and it never will be.

Responding to the first tweet I mentioned - about choosing which info I relay. I share information that I find interesting. I tweet things I believe in. I tweet information that I feel is true and accurate. I'm human, so I may tweet things that aren't. If I am aware I've done that, I correct it as quickly as possible - going as far as deleting the misinformation from my tweet stream. I do poke fun at political figures at times. Right now I am on a kick about Al Gore, the inventor of the internet and big global warming fighter. I found him to be funny from the time Bill Clinton chose him as vice-president and, as time goes by, Gore gets even funny for me. Not the man, of course. Obviously he isn't funny, but what he says and does is quite hilarious to me. Anyway...When I tweet, I refuse to use certain names. You'll see me giving free publicity to that talk show host, soon to be retiring, that got BamBam elected. You know her name, but I'm not mentioning it even though this blog might get picked up by more search engines if I did.

As for the second tweet I mentioned - the one about "isolated data" and "an agenda." Of course I tweet isolated data. I don't know all the stories. I don't know all the people. Brace yourself for this - I don't have all the facts. I tweet what I know. Personally, I don't like statistics and polls. I don't know how accurate they are. They change constantly. I don't know who is coming up with the stats and who is conducting the polls. The only poll I've ever been involved with was a taste test between Pepsi and Coke, conducted by Pepsi, at the Oklahoma State Fair. I chose Coke, but my answer was thrown out because I was holding a cup with Coke printed on it. That cup contained lemonade, but I wasn't allowed to tell them that. That makes me wonder if the polls aren't one-sided - AKA tainted. Sorry, but that experience stuck with me and makes me leery of all polls.

As for my "agenda..." Yes, I have one. I want to express myself. I want others to express themselves. I want to learn from their information. I want them to learn from my information. I think that is an excellent way to find some middle ground - find something that we agree on and start a conversation. Don't get me wrong; I want it my way and I want it my way yesterday - if not last week. We all do. Unfortunately, we don't live in EmmaRileySuttonville, so I don't get it my way. I don't live in LaLa Land either. I know we have to compromise to exist together. Trust me, I'm married; compromising is the only way to make things work.

As you have probably noticed, I haven't mentioned the name of my Twitter friend. I don't think I've said anything negative about him. I value his opinion. I believe (and know) he has the right to have that opinion and express it. I will send him a tweet with the URL to this post. I hope he responds. I'd love to know what he thinks. We could have another non-mud slinging, intelligent and spirited exchange of ideas. I'm not going to change his mind. He isn't going to change my mind. That's fine with me. We can find something that we both believe in, working together like adults who respect each other, and find answers to all the problems we face. Okay, that was a bit "LaLa Land-ish," but we could at least try.

Do you think our elected senators and congress persons could do that? It's a novel idea. Here's another novel idea: Get those folks to agree that water is wet and the sun sets in the west. Then they could move on to bigger things they agree on like War and Peace is a long book. If they did that, they might be able to find ways to lower the unemployment rate, get our country out of debt and give our children safe and educational schools to go to. Maybe I do live in LaLa Land, but wouldn't that be nifty?

Call To Arms

I am not a pacifist nor am I a warmonger. Truthfully, I am an isolationist that will fight for my country against any and all threats, both foreign and domestic. I don't back down. I don't give up. As long as there is breath in my body, I will defend my country, our beliefs and our ideals as well as our way of life the best way I can.

Any and all threats, both foreign and domestic. Not only are we fighting a war on terrorism in two different countries at this moment, we also fighting a domestic enemy within our own borders. That enemy is socialism. Each and every American who believes in our Constitution is involved in this war. We must stop the socialists and their tyranny before our country and all we stand for and believe in is gone.

Where are these socialists? In our very government. Who are the socialists? They are those we elected, those who are paid by us, to keep our country safe and free from the tyranny they are trying to impose upon us.

Those politicians must be stopped and they must be stopped now. This includes the one who lives in MY White House, sleeps in the bed I pay for with MY taxes and goes out to dinner with his wife and sends his children to an expensive private school on MY dime.

I titled this post "Call To Arms," but do not misconstrue that as me telling you or even suggesting to you that you actually take up conventional arms against our government. The arms I am imploring you to take up is our very Constitution. It is the strongest weapon we have. Use our freedom of religion to pray for our country. Use our freedom of speech to speak out against our oppressors. Use our freedom of the press to write our blogs and anti-socialism websites; use it to send tweets on Twitter and write letters to our leaders. Use our freedom to peaceful demonstration to tell our senators and congressmen and women we do not like what they are doing to our country and to us.

The Constitution is our greatest weapon. We must use it to stop those who seek to destroy us, our country and our way of life. Freedom isn't free. We must pay these small costs in order to keep from having to make the ultimate sacrifice. If socialism isn't stopped now, we will turn into another Soviet Union, China and Cuba. We must work together to take our country back.

There is no time to waste. We must fight against socialism now. We can not give up. We can not back down. We must stand shoulder to shoulder and fight. We must do all we can to stop socialism. We are being led to the gates of Hell by Barrack Hussein Obama and his blind sheep. They are banging on those gates, begging for all of us to be let in. I, for one, will not go in. I hope you decide to take up arms with me and refuse as well.

Senate Okays Debate On Health Care: Let's Get Busy!

Well, they passed it - 60 to 39 in favor of debating the health care bill many of them haven't even read. Why should they read it? Socialism is socialism, no matter the pretty words used to destroy our country.

Twitter is all a-flutter with "whine today, get busy tomorrow" tweets. Not me. I don't have time to whine. I have work to do. I have 100 senators to call, write, email, tweet to and about. This little gal from Oklahoma is on a mission. My mission is not impossible; it is very do-able. My mission to to stop the spread of socialism and this horrid health care Barrack Hussein Obama is so intent of shoving down our throats.

"Yes, we can!" was BamBam's battle cry.

"Yes, we did!" is my battle cry. The Bible tells me to be like Abraham and to "call things that are not as though they were." Therefore, ObamaCare is defeated and our country is safe from socialist tyranny.

I'm putting legs on the many prayers I'm praying for our country. I'm doing all I can to stop this nonsense before it gets even more out of control. Please join me! Below is the list of all 100 senators, their addresses and their phone numbers.

Use it. Stop this fiasco now. Don't do it for me or for yourself. Do it for my four year old daughter. Do it for your children and grandchildren. Do it for my grandfather who lost his hearing defeating Hitler in World War II. Do it for all of those who sacrificed and suffered so we can be free. Do it for the party of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. Ensure that we are, once again, that "shining city on a hill."

It isn't "morning in America" yet, but it will be soon. Work with me so we can all see that beautiful sunrise again!

Obama In 2012!

Obama in 2012! Yeah! Let's go for it. Barrack Hussein Obama, I have big, huge plans for you in 2012. I'm excited and everyone else should be as well. Talk about change we can believe it! I can hardly sit still from the anticipation. Here are just a few plans I have for Obama in 2012:

1. Start on his presidential library. Every president gets one, even the socialist ones who lead blind sheep around. Stick it on the south side of Chicago. We all know how much BamBam loves that area and wants to see it improved.

2. Write another book. I suggest titling it "Dreams of a One-Term President." Talk with Jimmy Carter; I'm sure he has some ideas on different directions you can take your book. I wouldn't go with the "Yes We Can" thing you used before because "no you didn't."

3. Go on a book tour. Start off in those socialist countries you want America to be like. China and Cuba are sure to open their doors and hearts to you and your book. Don't count on big sales there, though. They don't have any money to buy your book. The few books you do manage to sell will probably be used as kindling or toilet paper; they have huge lines to buy such luxuries there.

4. Run for mayor of Chicago. I'm sure the ACORN and your other friends can round up enough votes for you to win. There are a lot of cemeteries where they can find votes for you. Remember to register all the pets to vote that way you can win by a Beagle.

5. Refuse protection from the Secret Service. You don't have a lot national secrets to tell. You've shown us you don't have a clue about our national security so if you were kidnapped the only secrets you could share is that America doesn't like socialism, tea party goers are not to be taken lightly and the party of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan is not to be underestimated. That is already public knowledge, though.

6. Listen to Shellie whine about how she isn't proud to be an American because you weren't re-elected. After all these years of marriage, I'm sure you are really good at that already. Console her the best you can. Encourage her to go back to work in a hospital so she can screw over more folks needing health care.

Those six ideas for what Barrack Hussein Obama can do in 2012 should keep him busy for a while. After that, he can disappear from the limelight. The country will soon forget him the way he forgot our country.

Sorry...Have to add a number seven. Can't leave this one out...

7. GET OUT YOUR SUNGLASSES, BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, BECAUSE WE WILL ONCE AGAIN BE THAT SHINING CITY ON A HILL THAT RONALD REAGAN SERVED AND LOVED SO MUCH!

Going Rogue: True Confessions of a Conservative Christian

I'm "Going Rogue" as well. It is time that I made a few confessions. I'm going to lay it all on the line and see what happens. Maybe I should say I'm going to throw it all against the wall and see what sticks. Either way, I'm going rogue and letting my true feelings show.

My first confession is that I didn't vote for McCain. Don't panic; I can explain it. I voted against Barrack Hussein Obama. My vote was marked "John McCain/Sarah Palin," but it was a vote against socialism and the other junk BamBam and his blind sheep was spewing. I preferred someone else - a Matthew 25 Republican who now has his own television show on Fox News. His name is Mike Huckabee.

My second confession is that I'm not a big fan of Sarah Palin. She and I would have a lovely conversation in line at the grocery store. We'd probably exchange phone numbers and email addresses. I'd love to have a cup of coffee with her. I might have her over for dinner. She's a bit too perky for me and would quickly drain my already-low reserve of energy. That's just me. Don't get me wrong; Sarah Palin has her place in Conservative Republican politics. I don't know what that place is; I'm still trying to figure her out. I'll support her, if she's the candidate in 2012. Read my next confessions and you'll understand why I'm not jumping up and down at that idea.

My third confession is that the first time I ever voted for someone was in the 2008 caucus. I had voted in every election since I was old enough, but never voted FOR someone. I always voted against the other one. I voted for Mike Huckabee in the caucus. WOW! That was a thrill. I even spoke on his behalf before the vote. I couldn't keep quiet about his common sense approach to all things political, fiscal and "governmental."

My fourth confession is that I am an addict. I am addicted to the idea of voting for someone. I've heard other addicts talk about "chasing their first high" and it makes sense to me. (Getting rid of the IRS? Novel idea. When I buy my daughter shoes at Wal-Mart, I'm paying the same tax that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes pays when they shop for their daughter on Rodeo Drive. Anyway...) I'll be chasing that feeling for the rest of my life. That is why I will do all I can to get Mike Huckabee in MY White House in 2012. He touched my heart the way Ronald Reagan did in 1980 and 1984. I wish I had been old enough to vote for him. On the bright side, I helped my parents and grandparents campaign for him.

My fifth confession is I'm scared for our country. Obama and his blind sheep are conning America. They refuse to listen to Americans. They want to push their socialist agenda down our throats and choke our freedom out of us. BamBam is dangerous. His blind sheep make him dangerous. Thank God I have 20/20 vision.

My sixth confession is that I will campaign against every politician that supports Obama. My one voice, combined with others, will be heard. I will make phone calls. I will tweet until my fingers bleed about the BamBam and his lies. I will post on my little blog for as long as I have freedom of speech and freedom of the press. I will email everyone. I will go to tea parties. I will hold my sign and protest peacefully. I'll use every right the Constitution gives me to stop socialism in my country. The same Constitution my Granddad lost his hearing in World War II defending. The same Constitution that will protect my daughter and future grandchildren from tyranny. I will do everything possible to, once again, make America that "shining city on a hill" Ronald Reagan served and loved.

I just went rogue. I spilled my Conservative heart. I told all my dirty little secrets. Well, some of them. Just thought you might want a little insight on what this Conservative Matthew 25 Republican thinks and feels. I hope there are many other Conservatives that will be going rogue soon. Let's stand up and fight, taking our country back from those elected that seek to destroy us, our beliefs, our ideals and our way of life.

How Much Is a Trillion?

The bumper sticker on my car reads "I'm an English major, you do the math." That is my life story. Contrary to what I was told in high school, the only time I ever needed to know what X was equal to or the number of degrees in a triangle was when I was in college getting my English and Public Relations degrees. I can pay my tithes, count change and balance my checkbook. That is all the math I ever needed to survive. Until now.

With Barack Hussein Obama's health care plan, I need to understand math much better than I do now. His numbers are unknown to me. His numbers are much to complicated for this simple gal.

One hundred dollars will buy me a new tire. Well, maybe one new tire.

One thousand dollars would be an excellent Christmas for our daughter.

Five thousand dollars would buy us a good new-to-us (AKA used) car.

Twenty thousand dollars would buy us an okay new car.

Fifty thousand dollars might be a down payment for a house.

One hundred thousand dollars might buy us a small house in a small town.

Three hundred thousand dollars would be a nice house in a nice area of town.

A million dollars is the budget for an extremely cheap movie.

Ten million dollars might buy us a small house in Beverly Hills.

Fifty million dollars might make a decent movie with actors we've heard of.

How much is a trillion dollars? Is it one hundred thousand million? Or is it one million million dollars?

Please excuse my lack of knowledge on how much a trillion dollars is equal to. Once you say "a million dollars," my head starts swimming amidst all the zeros. I can't begin comprehend how much a trillion could be. Yet...

BamBam wants us to pay several trillion dollars for his health care idea. He's already given away trillions of dollars to bail out big business. By the way, as a taxpayer I'm part owner in GM and I haven't gotten my company car yet. Has anyone else gotten their company car? Anyway...

How much is this several trillion dollar plan of his going to cost me? If I made $100,000 a year and gave every penny of it to pay for this plan of his, how many years until it's paid off. If everyone in my town of 50,000 people made that same amount, how many years until the trillions of dollars he wants to spend is paid off? Sorry, but I have to keep the numbers simple.

I think it would be a long time. Of course, on top of BamBam's brain child, we still have to pay to keep the roads paved, schools open and all sorts of other things. We won't have to worry about keeping our country safe from the jihadists that seek to destroy us because BamBam wants to cut our military and national security budgets.

That's a lot of money for something we already have. Yes, we have health care. Folks have it through their employers. Others have it because they pay for it privately. Others have it because other Americans pay for their medicare and medicaid. Of course, there are some who don't have any health insurance. Then again, some folks drive fancy and expense cars while others drive old cars and other walk or take the bus. That is the way it is. Just because we were created equal that doesn't mean we all live equally. And, that is fine with me.

Back to my original question - How much is a trillion dollars? I think I know. It is too much. It is much too much for us to pay for a health care plan that won't work; a plan that take us one step closer to socialism. Socialism, which by the way, has yet to work anywhere it has been tried.
